Woohooo! We won the Grand Prix at the french or ‘francophonie’ contest we had on Friday. After so many weeks of rehearsals the day of the contest finally passed over, but now I’m struggling to take off that ‘grrr’ accent Oh yeah, and also English doesn’t seem as fluent as it was before..lol…that’s bad All this français thing kinda affected me, cause we repeated so much, and I tried so much to get my accent as french as possible cause now some r containing words come out of my mouth a bit ‘rrr’ even in Romanian. Damn it! Not to say that parts of the drama come into my mind again and again 0.o Sometimes I find myself repeating in my mind parts of my presentation speech, or parts of that childish song called ‘Le Chat Botté’ suddenly pop up into my head…duh! I need to get rid of this as soon as possible! Oh…but I started with the band things …haha So…I omitted what was the most important, that our drama won the Grand Prix, out of another like 20-25 participant groups from various schools in our region The play was written by one of our mates from the 7th grade, and then translated into French by our teacher. It was about a girl that was the new one in school and couldn’t stand the French teacher ( I can’t really give you any sharp details cause of course almost nobody could fully understand all the words ) It starts with that girl walking around her bedroom and confessing to her diary all her complaints about the teacher and the new school in general. Then two mates, a girl and a boy, come to invite her to the ‘circle de français’ (well that’s sort of a meeting between students and teachers, usually hold in the weekend, where are developed fun activities like drama, dance, singing, literature and so on). After a long talk the two manage to convince the main character to come with them. Once they arrive at school, the French teacher behaves very friendly with the girl, and tell everybody there that the girl’s poem entitled ‘Frustration’ (french accent here ) was chosen for a contest. Then the choir starts singing and a group of dancers starts dancing. After that, back into the girl’s bedroom, she’s again with her diary, saying that from now on she has friends and feels much better. And then finally the drama ends with kind of a cliche “J’adore ma vie!” Whatever, the idea of the drama is nothing extraordinary, it’s actually pretty common, but the actors’ role play, and the spectacle offered by the choir and the dance group were those which made this drama extraordinary, and indeed a winner. I’m very happy we won, cause our teacher is very strict and kinda perfectionist, and less than the Grand Prix would have been a disappointment for her, and a failure for us. But it all ended up well!

And…because it’s some of those tough weeks for me, today I had the geography contest, the county stage. The subjects were pretty rubbish and annoying. I mean…from all those interesting things they could gave us, like identifying cities or rivers on a map, they gave some stupidities that nobody could have ever think of…but anyway it doesn’t mean to much for me, so the result, whatever it will be, won’t bother me too much. The intriguing thing is that the teacher told Ramona that she didn’t qualify for this stage of the contest, and she has even scold her taking a mark way below the expectations. But when another girl and I went to the contest today we saw that actually Ramona was on the lists, so she qualified. This made me change my opinion about the teacher, cause I tend to believe that she DIDN’T WANT to tell Ramona she qualified, rather than she DID A MISTAKE But…whatever, we’ll see on Monday or Tuesday the teacher’s reaction and explanations about what happened.

Ahh…I wanted to update a little today, or maybe just return comments, but it seems that I didn’t have time …again! First, mom had a lot to work and she needed the computer, and then when my time finally came, after I checked out my email the internet connection broke down, and it took me like half an hour to restart the computer. After that my dad took my place in front of the computer, and I finally managed to sit in front of the computer after my dad finished and I took a shower, so pretty late, as now I just have time to finish this blog and go to bed. Hope this week I’ll have some more free time, although I may have a couple of test papers And I’m really sorry if I made any grammar or spelling mistakes in this blog, but not only french took over English this week, I’m also very tired Bye bye now!

I tried to blog on Thursday and Friday night, but each time I tried to download the photos with the snow that has fallen, my computer froze and then after I restarted it it wouldn’t open So I just give and I blog now

Today I had a geography contest that the teacher obliged me to go to She hasn’t made any preparation with us for this contest, she just told us “The contest is on Saturday at 8:30 pm at School No. 30″. Haha…well said It was like “Go there and do what you know cause I don’t wanna work out my head too much” …Whatever… So here I went this morning to that school that happens to be Razvan’s school (that boy I told you about in my last blogs, that might join us in the dance team). It was me, Ramona, Ana and Mihaela (lool…I really don’t know why this girl came cause she’s rubbish! ). Actually I haven’t studied too much for this stupid contest, just what I remembered from what I had to learn for the exam in December Anyway, I was quite lucky cause we were seated like so: in front of me was also a girl in the 8th grade, and then in desk behind me another 8th grade girl. As the teachers that supervised us weren’t too attentive, basically he helped each other a lot, and did kinda common work It was funny..haha I’ve never been to a contest and cheated that much Whatever..I don’t care that much about the result…cause anyway I didn’t want to go, didn’t study that much…and so on

Also at this contest we met Bianca, a dance team mate She told us that that boy in her classroom that practices dance might join us. Yay! This might be a chance to get rid of Marian..mwhaha Nothing’s very sure yet, cause he didn’t come to the training he had today cause Bianca forgot to tell him but he should come tomorrow. I still don’t know if he’s able to come to Barcelona, but my hope level raised a little anyway Today at training Ramona and I switched our temporarily partners..haha So I danced with Robert and she danced with Marian. The reason for this is that Ramona found out from another boy in the team, Manu, that Robert has kind of a crush on her, so she doesn’t want to dance with him anymore..lol Complicated stuff!

Ahh…and now about the snow part! Yes, we had snow on Thursday evening! It is a bit late I thing, cause I was expecting for snow in December and January, but not in late February But heh…as a lot of people here say… Things always arrive in Romania with a big delay Now even snow arrives late here..lol I wanted to show you some photos of the snow, but I don’t dare to plug in the camera again and risk to freeze the computer again Anyway, now everything’s melting down and the so-called snow does nothing else than wetting my boots

This site really lacks for updates I haven’t realized before, but I’ve been keeping that Resources section under re-vamp for so much time that I can’t even remember when I started (theoretically saying ‘started’). It also needs a new layout! I was supposed to have a holiday week this week, but actually I feel a lot more tired than I used to be after a normal school week This is mainly because I had like 2 trainings each day, one for gymnastics and one for dance, either between an hour and a half or two. My schedule in this holiday looked like that: from 10:00 or 10:30 I had dance, and after that I remained from 12:00 to 1:30 or 2:00 for gymnastics, which was quite painful because we were trying to make the free cartwheel (this means the cartwheel without hands, kind of a jump) and I failed and hit the ground with my bottom so many times that my legs were really hurting. However, today I finally managed to do it well, without any assistance, so this is today’s greatest deed. Yay! When I did it the first time today, I didn’t even realised that I’m gonna do it. I just remember I was like flying and then I woke up standing firmly on my legs Also today, we helped our teacher to clean the biology lab, which is our classroom as well. It was so much dust in there, that I’m still sniffing now and my eyes are tearing a lot. I’m really surprised that the Mushroom..Ah! Sorry..I meant our teacher finally decided to get rid of some old creepy jar where she kept in a certain liquid ( I don’t how it’s called in English) some dead frogs We where so enthusiastic in breaking those jars, so we went to the place where school’s garbage is usually thrown and just let them drop on the ground. What a nice cracking noise! Anyway, we were a little disappointed that the liquid inside didn’t have anything special, it just smelt like ordinary medical alcohol We were too disgusted to look closer at the poor dead frogs, so we left.
We learned so many new step combination for dance, and so many and amazing figures that I’m so looking forward to training a lot and going to Barcelona in May. Unfortunately there’s nothing sure yet The prize rises up to about 500 euros(this includes 220 euros for the plane ticket, 140 euros accommodation for 4 days, about 100 euros for food and I don’t know exactly how much for the taxes the federation requires). Some parents already said that it’s way too much, and they won’t let their children go. Personally, I don’t think it’s that much, because it’s a big distance between Romania and Barcelona. The fact that annoys me the most is that my dance partner’s grandma phoned on Tuesday evening saying that she won’t let her grandchild go to Barcelona because she sees no good reason in this trip I thought the whole night of different plans, finding another partner (and Ramona came up with a really really great idea..ahh… ) Although, the boy is still coming to trainings, which I really do not understand If you say that is too expensive, than why aren’t you telling me straight you’re not coming anymore?! If he had told me he isn’t coming, I would have asked another boy if he could come and I would have started my apologizing speeches I really don’t know what should I do. I reckon I just have to wait until Tuesday, when the coach scheduled a meeting with the parents In case all the other parents let their children go to Barcelona, except for my partner’s parents, I think it’s anyway kinda late, cause the plane tickets’ prize is growing and growing day by day, and it may take a while until I convince the other boy to come I dunno…it’s such a tough situation Hope everything will be fine in the end!

You might have said that I did a lot of updates in this one week holiday, but I did nothing Except for leaving and returning some comments, I couldn’t get myself to do anything. It’s mainly because my eyes started hurting a lot when I’m staying too much in front of the computer, so I tried to spend as less time as I could on the computer, cause I really don’t want to damage them even more Ah! I almost forgot to tell you something pretty funny..well it’s pretty funny for the other, but for me it’s quite annoying and means an even busier schedule. This week, as I was at school everyday for gymnastics (like it hasn’t been holiday at all! ) I always met the geography teacher. For a while she was asking me and my friend Ramona whether we want to go to a geography contest. Of course we refused her saying that we don’t have time to study, that we’ll think about it and so on. This week she was suddenly rising from nowhere at every step we took through the school asking us whether we want to go to that stupid contest. Do you know those stupid cartoon characters that always rise from nowhere and appear in the scenery with those super annoying faces? She’s exactly like those Whether we were entering the school, going to the bath or changing or clothes, she appeared and asked the same old stupid question about the contest!!! I said that I’ll go to that geography contest just to get rid of this LEECH! Today really was a great day cause away from that done free cartwheel, there was no Ghermanschi(that’s her name) in the school! Yay
